  • Payment is due prior to or at the beginning of sessions.

Although counselling services are not covered under the Medical Services Plan of BC, you may be eligible for funding from the following:

  • Many extended health plans (including Blue Cross and Manulife) cover counselling with Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC’s).

  • You may be eligible for reimbursement if your plan or that of a spouse or partner includes this coverage. Check with your provider for further information.

  • If your plan does not cover RCC’s, employers may be able to add this coverage to their extended health plans at no additional charge. Speak to your employer or Human Resource Department for more information.

  • If you do not have extended health coverage, you may be able to write-off the cost of treatment as a medical expense on your income taxes. For assistance, contact the Canada Revenue Agency or a Tax Professional.

  • Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP): If you are the victim of a crime that occurred in BC after July 1st, 1972, which has been reported to the police, you may be eligible for funding for counselling. Application information is available by mail or from the CVAP website.

  • ICBC: If you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident you may be eligible for counselling services.  Please check with your ICBC adjustor to see if you qualify.
